Happy Easter

It’s not even April and Easter has already come and gone. Not that I’m complaining, it was a beautifully warm sunny day. But my family usually goes someplace warmer for Easter. Several months ago, when we realized Easter was in March, we decided to postpone our trip. You see, last year when we made the trip, mid-April, the pool was still too cold to really take a swim. We couldn’t imagine the pool would be any warmer in March. Well, wouldn’t you know, Mother Nature decided to pull a fast one on us. The weather was beautiful, it was near 80 at our usually Spring Break vacation spot. I was a little disappointed that we had postponed our trip, but as it turns out, we had more then enough fun here at home.
Of course the Easter Bunny made his usual muddy grand entrance, as he does every year. It’s a good thing he has manners and wipes his paws on our welcome mat before coming in. He must have heard we bought a boat because the kids’ baskets had swimsuits and beach toys. Way to pull through Mr. Bunny!
Later that afternoon we went to my Mom’s for Easter Dinner. It turned into quite the gathering with Aunts and Uncles, Cousins and Friends, and all our kids. We also were entertained with a televised viewing of J.D.’s (my brother) UCE debut from a few weeks back. It was just like being there again, without the anxiety of worrying about the ending; we already knew he would win and we wouldn't have to see him after the fight with his "rug burned" forehead, he's already all healed. Cheering for him made me realize how proud I am to have him for a brother. The only thing that would have made this day any better would have been if Kenna and her kids would have been there to enjoy it with us. They have become a wonderful addition to our family and we missed not having them there with us. I’m sure we’ll have lots of time this summer to spend together….I can’t wait.

On a last note, I’d like to remember two family members who we have lost on Easter in past years. Although the dates change each year, Easter will always be the day we remember our loved ones who left us on this holiday in past years, Grandma Lugo who passed in 1993 and Tyler Lugo, who we lost last year. We love and miss you both.
